Wow February has flown by. A few weeks ago we all gathered the night before the #snowmegeddon came to Arkansas and this month we are going to celebrate surviving it.

Venture beyond your ice laden hibernation and come join us, we’ve got a ton of reasons to celebrate

  • Our hope that Spring will soon arrive
  • Saints Won
  • and best of all… we are returning to the @CapitalBarGrill

The Capital Bar and Grill is a favorite of several of our tweeps and we couldn’t be more excited to have our tweetup return to Little Rock’s Front porch next Thursday night.

When: Thu Feb 25 5:30-7:30
Where: Capital Bar and Grill 111 West Markham Street, Little Rock (map)
RSVP: http://twtvite.com/7h2qe7

Did we mention they’ve got an awesome jazz band? See ya next week!

An intentional future for #LRTweetup

by Keith on January 8, 2010 in Community

The LRTweetup organizing committee is coming together next week to discuss the opportunities and vision for 2010. This community is about what you want so its time to speak up.

The floor is open to your ideas. The major agenda items are:

Involving More People

The LRTweetup twitter account is currently following 500 Arkansas twitterers. How can we invite more of them to be active in LRTweetup?

Part of this answer lies in clearly defining and communicating the following:

  • Why should you join LRTweetup?
  • What will you gain from LRTweetup?

Obviously we hope to see these answers begin to evolve but how would you answer these 2 questions?

Evolving our Mission

LRTweetup should begin to evolve into more than a social club. The compassion and resources of this organization necessitate us to become more civic and service minded. Whether it is spreading the word about a need or spending a day serving together, serving others should be a priority this year.

Strengthening Connections

Connecting people is at the core of LRTweetup and we want to increase its role as a forum for business and personal networking. We are exploring ideas for people to get to know and find one another better.

2 ideas we are considering:

  • Membership directory
  • Member Profile series.

Thoughts?

Conclusion

It is essential that we chart the future of this organization if we are to evolve in a directed manner that serves others and increases opportunities through personal connections. Through service and interactions we feel that LRTweetup can express the very essence of community.

Welcome to an exciting 2010, let us seize the moment.
