Sharing the story of @JimmyWayne & #MeetMeHalfway
Wow, what a tweetup. It’s too late for a full write up but I wanted to share some video and links to Jimmy Wayne and the #MeetMeHalfway awareness campaign.
Jimmy Wayne is a country music recording artist that is walking halfway across the United States to raise awareness about homeless teens. Here’s a clip of him sharing his story at tonight’s tweetup.
Find out More:
- Follow him on twitter, @JimmyWayne
- Visit http://MeetMeHalfway.JimmyWayne.com
- Become a fan at Facebook.com/JimmyWayne
- He’s also doing a mobile video blog
We were honored to have Jimmy tonight and we think this is a great cause so we want to help spread the word.
Check out Cotton’s great post with some links to music videos and more. While we are in our warm beds he’s sleeping in a tent in the parking lot of the Capitol Hotel. Here’s his video from 10:44P tonight.
Thanks Jimmy, consider #LRtweetup your newest supporters.
Taking the Tweetup Statewide
It’s no secret that the #LRTweetup community rocks. In less than a year we’ve become one of the best ways to connect in Central Arkansas and we think its time to expand. It’s time to take the tweetup gospel statewide.
Introducing ArkansasTweetup.com
Inspired by the success of LRTweetup we want to facilitate tweetups all across the Natural State. We want to organize and promote any existing tweetups and encourage people to start new ones.
And we need your help to spread the word.
Since most of you are already involved in LRTweetup we’d like you to help tell the rest of the state about #ARtweetup. If you have twitter friends and connections in other parts of the state would you mind sending them a tweet?
In addition you can click the image below to RT.
Arkansas we are calling you out. Conway, Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Hot Springs, Fort Smith… let us hear from you.
To join #ARTweetup just fill out our registration form and we’ll get you setup.
Don’t forget to follow @ARtweetup and watch as Arkansas gets more connected.

“What began as a casual conversation about the social media snowball Twitter has become one of the newest networking outlets for young professionals in central Arkansas.
“Tweetups are kind of a nationwide thing that people on Twitter have been doing in different cities around the country,” said Natalie Ghidotti, owner of Ghidotti Communications of Little Rock. “We just started talking among a few of us that were on Twitter here in Little Rock that we need to have a tweetup.”
