A little over a month ago there was an idea.
An idea to simply bring people together. To organize a gathering of Central Arkansas Twitterers so we can get to know one another.
Tonight we have seen that idea evolve into most vibrant, interesting, and friendly community of people you’d ever hope to meet. It’s impossible to accurately describe the experience of such brilliant and hilarious people just getting together to enjoy one another’s company. It goes without saying that it is a great place for business networking but LRTweetup is reaching far beyond business, it is the launching pad for friendships and acquaintances. LRTweetup is all about people.
LRTweetup was formed around a communication medium so it’s no surprise that tonight was a voluble amusement park. The discussions ranged from politics and business to jazz hands and white wingtips. Laughing and Learning was the order of the day.
I can summarize the entire tweetup in one word, Wow!
Thank you to the Capital Hotel Bar and Grill (web / @capitalbargrill on Twitter) and Amy B. You all were outstanding hosts. The appetizers were delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and that just helped make this a more memorable event. Thank you very much.
Thanks to Brant Collins, of Station X. Brant spent several hours today getting the nametags formatted and printed. He volunteered in a clutch time and we really appreciate him making that happen. I think the printed nametags helped facilitate people connecting and that is what LRTweetup is all about. Thank you very much Brant.
Finally, Thank you to YOU! To those of you who attended we thank you for taking the time to come out and for making this such a fantastic community.
To those of you who couldn’t come or are just becoming aware of LRTweetup we can’t wait to see you at the next one.
We are just getting started!
